Frequently Asked Questions
Gasholder Resident Classes
If your question isn't answered below, please reach out and drop me a line via phone or email openroomyoga@gmail.com. Happy to talk through anything that opens the door for you to come through.

How do I book a class?
You can book classes directly through our website via the Booking page. Just select the class you’d like to attend and follow the steps to confirm your spot. If it’s your first time, you’ll need to create a quick account.
What if I need to cancel?
We understand life gets busy. If you cancel more than 24 hours before class, you’ll receive a full class credit. If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, you’ll receive a 50% credit toward another class (valid for 30 days).
No-shows or cancellations made less than 1 hour before class are not eligible for credit. Thank you for understanding—our classes are small, and cancelling in advance helps ensure someone else has the chance to practise.
Can I get a refund?
We don’t offer refunds, but we do have a flexible credit system to help you rebook when needed. This helps us maintain small, focused classes and a fair booking system for everyone. However, in extradinary circumstances, you can contact us and we'll do our best to accomodate.
What should I bring?
Just bring yourself, comfortable clothing, and a water bottle. Mats are provided, as well as props including blocks, straps, and bolsters (for yin). You’re also welcome to bring your own mat or props if you prefer.
I’m new to yoga. Can I join?
Absolutely. These classes are open to all levels. You’ll be offered plenty of options and encouraged to move in a way that feels right for your body. You’re very welcome here.
Where are the classes held?
Classes take place in the Gasholders Studio. Please get in touch if you require specific directions.
How big are the classes?
We keep classes at 3 people to maintain a peaceful, open atmosphere—and because the studio itself is quite intimate. This allows everyone space to move and breathe. It’s also why we ask that, if you can’t make it, you cancel ahead of time to free up the spot for someone else.
What is Vinyasa yoga?
Vinyasa yoga is a breath-led practice that threads movement and stillness into continuous flow. Sequences vary class to class, offering room for both creative expression and deepening technical awareness.
You’ll build strength and mobility through transitions, refine your coordination with breath, and explore the energetic quality of movement. Vinyasa supports resilience, physically, mentally and emotionally, and is a space to stay responsive, attuned, and alive to what’s present.
What is Yin yoga?
Yin yoga invites you into a quieter terrain of practice, where long-held shapes create gentle, intentional stress on fascia and connective tissue. Poses will be held between 3-5 minutes.
Rooted in principles of Chinese medicine, Yin poses are mapped along meridian lines to support internal balance and organ vitality. It’s a space to explore the relationship between tension, release, and sensation with patience and presence.
Rather than seeking stillness as an endpoint, Yin offers a slow unfolding—an opportunity to meet what arises, to witness the body-mind’s responses, and to cultivate space in both.
