About
My name is Ellen Wiltshire and I teach with the belief that our bodies are bridges between sensation and story. My classes invite curiosity, care, and strength—offering space for people of all levels to explore what brings them to practice. At the heart of Open Room Yoga is a space for reflection, movement, and dedicated attention to your practise.
I’m an Australian theatre director recently relocated to London, with a background in somatic and physical storytelling practices. I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Directing from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA, Sydney Australia) and have directed work across Australia and the UK. In 2022, I received support from the Ian Potter Cultural Trust to deepen my inquiry into physicality. This took me into immersive study of contemporary clowning, mask, and movement theatre across Europe—with teachers such as Giovanni Fusetti (Helikos), Matteo Destro (Mask Movement Atelier), and institutions like the Nouveau Clown Institute (Barcelona) and the Grotowski Institute (Poland). These embodied practices continue to shape how I teach yoga: as a creative and grounding exploration of presence.
I’m a certified Vinyasa and Yin yoga teacher with a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training obtained from Human.Kind studios in Adelaide Australia and a 100-hour Yin Teacher Training with Cal Wansbrough at TriYoga Camden in London. My teaching weaves anatomical awareness, mindfulness, and reflective inquiry into movement that supports both inner and outer adaptability.
